The name ‘Melchizedek’ (vv. 6, 10) points beyond Ps 110:4 to its narrative root in Gen 14:18, the only other Old Testament Melchizedek text and the one ch. 7 will expound at length. The repeated naming is Hays' recurrence in advance — the figure is planted here and harvested in chapter 7.
